Izu Okada
If you’re a lover of fresh seafood, sashimi and delicious teishoku sets, then Izu Okada (Oakada on google maps) is an absolute stopping point after you’ve had a day exploring the beautiful Minami no Sakura and the Nanohana field nearby. It’s an easy 2 min walk from the Nanohana field.
WELCOME TO OKADA
Established in 1985, Okada has a lovely traditional Japanese interior with tatami sitting areas, or table options. Numerous washi art hangs on the walls and is also available to purchase individually as washi sheets.
DELICIOUS CRAB!
A serious feast to be had, when these are in season! At first you might not think there’s a lot of meat in them, but I now understand when in Japanese supermarkets those long crab sticks that look almost too perfect to be real come from!
TEMPURA CRAB & TEISHOKU
Okada’s banquet and special dishes like the crab (tempura, boiled etc), the steamed red snapper and huge sashimi platter are utterly delicious and perfect for a large group, however if it’s just you and one other, never fear their teishoku dishes (below) are just as filling and delicious. There are various teishoku options available, sashimi, tempura, steamed fish etc all coming with various side dishes and of course miso soup, rice & pickles.
